COMMUNITY MEETING

The Future of Healthcare in Carleton-Victoria

The New Brunswick Medical Society (NBMS) will host a community forum on the state of primary care at the Western Valley Multiplex in Centreville on September 17, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The NBMS has conducted an analysis of primary care resources and access across New Brunswick, and our findings indicate that Carleton-Victoria is at risk due to the demographics of both patients and providers. This situation is already affecting the quality of healthcare services available in the community, and without significant and coordinated action by stakeholders, communities, Regional Health Authorities, and the government, it is expected to worsen.

The forum will include a presentation of the primary care data specific to Carleton-Victoria, along with best practices that have been effective in other regions. This presentation will be followed by a discussion with local physicians and a Q&A session.
